The story takes place in an imaginary country of mountains
and semi-desertic valleys, inspired by the landscape of Afghanistan,
Nepal, Bouthan and the karstic hills of southwestern China.
This land is called Busthan.

In
2084 the country is at war. A powerfull army, controlled
by gas companies, comb the mountains in search of
a strange guerilla army:the Busthan
rebel female army. |
Nomads
for reasons of survival these teenage soldiers have never
seen anything other than war. Without the aid of adults, these
adolescents have learned to withstand the inhospitable climat
and develop a violent and naive micro-society. Between military
exploits, they lay hidden in secret dwellings known only to
themselves.
Organised in little groups but strong in numbers, this underground
army meets only twice a year, to celebrate the ancien shamatic
rituals of their civilisation.
The Busthan rebel female army
plans devastating raids against the industrial's camps, the
trains and military convoys. In spite of their heavy loses,
nothing discourages their desire for destruction. The war
for freedom is a just cause that merits the sacrifice.Hardly
out of childhood, they already hunt the drones soaring constantly
above their country as her ancestors did well before their
birth.

Only
survivor of his airplane shot down by the Busthan
rebel female army, our hero is taken hostage
of the young rebels of Busthan. In spite of himself,
he slowly integrates his captor's culture. The negociations
for his release are at standstill.

Treated
like a prisonner without any right, he learns their language
and customs. Bit by bit, he becomes attached to this female
society where he, as a man, is not only a stranger but a curiosity.
However, this middle aged westerner doesn't seem to be here
by accident, his intense interest for the religious symbols
carved into the rocks along their trails, and the subterfuges
he uses to gain acces to the ancestral santuarys, indicates
that he cames with the intentions to find something in particular.
He will discover many strange ceremonies during witch the
young warriors, forming a circle, can call forth marvellous,
luminous little beings.
He will uncover the secret of this manless civilization. He
must then decide whether he should stay or not.
